For bodies that still get used
You do not have to be an athlete for this to be the right session. You have to be someone who still asks their body to do things.

There are a few things worth checking first
Who books it here
Golfers with a shoulder or a low back. People who paddle the rivers and pay for it the next day. Gardeners, which in this county is most people. Anyone who has taken up something new at sixty and discovered muscles they had forgotten about.
Before or after matters
Work before an event is short, brisk and stays out of the way. Work after is slower and goes deeper. If you have something coming up — a tournament, a trip, a long day — tell me which side of it we are on and I will change what I do.
Recurring things
If the same thing keeps coming back, the interesting question is what is causing it rather than what hurts. That usually means looking somewhere other than where you are pointing, and it usually takes more than one visit.
Questions
Should I book before or after my event?
Both work, they are just different sessions. Tell me which and I will work accordingly. If it is the day before, we keep it light.
I am not an athlete. Is this still the right one?
If you are active and something specific is complaining, yes. If you mainly want an unhurried hour, book the therapeutic session instead.
Will I be sore afterwards?
Possibly for a day, the way you are after unfamiliar exercise. If it feels wrong rather than just worked, call me.
